(I have planned some ‘alternative’ lessons for the sub to do with the kids, so that is why you don’t see much movement on the topics below. However, they will have spelling and the LWR quiz per our usual schedule.)

Most likely, I will not be updating the blog until after Thanksgiving. There will be no LWRs or spelling the week of Nov 19th.


Reading

5th graders:

Skills: Main idea, summaries, tone & mood, opinions & facts. We’ll be doing these for about 2 weeks.

6th graders: Students continue with The Year of the Hangman and Bound.

Language

Skills:

Writing—Expository writing. Persuasive writing.

Spelling—U 13 are at the end of the blog. U 12 is a review unit which I skip.
